Our Programs

Program 1: Read-Aloud & Conversation

30 minutes · Ages 4–8

A lively read-aloud of A Rescue Feast followed by a guided conversation about food, community, and helping others. Children are introduced to the idea of food rescue in a way that is hopeful, accessible, and empowering.

Format & Activities:

Interactive read-aloud, audience questions, guided discussion.

Program 2: From Seed to Table

30–45 minutes · Interactive

An interactive program that connects the story to real-world concepts like planting seeds, growing food, and sharing meals. Children explore how food grows and how caring for plants connects to caring for people.

Format & Activities:

Story-based learning with visuals, simple hands-on elements, and movement.

Program 3: Compost — Turning Scraps into Soil

30–45 minutes · Interactive

A kid-friendly introduction to composting and food scraps, showing how leftovers can become something new. Children learn that food waste isn’t “the end,” but part of a natural cycle that helps gardens grow.

Visual demonstration, sorting activities, and discussion about food scraps and soil.

Program 4: Food Rescue in Our Community

Flexible format · Families & mixed ages

An age-appropriate look at what happens to surplus food and how communities work together to reduce waste and feed neighbors. This program connects the story to real-world food rescue in a hopeful, empowering way.

Format & Activities:

Conversation-driven program with real examples and audience participation. Adaptable for festivals, libraries, and school assemblies.
